My time in the Fossil Ridge theater program was extremely influential to how high school played out for me. Participating in Fossil’s theater program gave me more than just a place to perform. It was a creative outlet after long nights of studying for AP classes. It was a place where I could work on something real and feel an impact beyond just a letter grade. Most of all it was a community of people who I knew would always be there for me during and after high-school. Participating in both tech and cast, taught me a lot of skills that I use in my day to day life including critical communication and problem solving skills. Even while working in an organic chemistry lab I find myself thinking through problems the same way I learned to while in theater. Theater gave me real world skills that I couldn’t find in any AP class. This program was such a valuable experience, and while I am focused on research and post secondary schooling now I still love theater and will never forget how important this program was for me." |
Fossil Ridge Theatre was such a highlight of my high school career! It made me who I am and I couldn't imagine my life without it! Throughout each school year I had ups and downs in my life, but there were always people within this program who were there for me. I made some of my closest friends in theatre that I hope to have my whole life! I couldn't be more grateful for the friends I made and the opportunities I was provided throughout my time in Fossil Theatre!" |

Fossil Theatre was the reason I was able to find myself, my people, and my passion. The program is not only successful and esteemed, it is welcoming, imaginative, and exciting. The theatre department truly has a place for every person, no matter if they want to be on stage, building, designing, or managing. The reason it stands out is because it is primarily run by students with the guidance of teachers. This makes the environment feel like a community instead of a class or job. Through my four years in the program, I saw my peers grow as people, students, and artists.” |

Fossil Ridge Theater is an inclusive program that caters to the needs of each student, as was by far the best part of my high school experience. The directors took the time to get to know every student in the program, and were always easy to talk to due to their dedication and love for theatre. I joined my first show with no idea what I was doing or what I wanted to do. Even in my very first theater experience I could feel how much everyone cared about the program and it's what made me fall in love with the art. This theater is where I found my closest friends, my passion, and myself." |
