Intro to ActingLearn some new techniques, including character development and movement. We explore audition techniques, monologues. In ensemble groups, you will work on improvisation, scene work, and One-Act performances. Open to all grades. This class is the first in the drama series. It is required for musical auditions. This class will produce Intro to Acting One Acts.

Theatre Foundations

Advanced ActingYou will study advanced audition techniques and traditions of master actors and directors in this semester-long course. The culminating project of this class is a student directed One Act performed for school and community audiences. Prerequisite: Theatre Foundations. One Semester. Open to grades 10, 11, 12. This class is third in the drama series. This class will direct and produce the One Acts.

Integrated DramaSpecial education and general education students work in diverse peer groups on performance projects that include improvisation, pantomime, puppetry, musical performances, and composition of original pieces. Class activities will encourage peer collaboration, education about disabilities, student inclusion, and personal empowerment. One semester. Open to all grades.

Acting in Film
Find your place among the stars by performing before the camera! Learn acting techniques that are specifically designed to improve your performance on film. In Fossil’s newest year-long acting course, you will collaborate with Media classes to script, rehearse, and produce original student films. Prerequisite: Intro to Acting. Open to grades 10, 11, 12. This class is third in the drama series (Advanced Acting is the other choice). |
Technical Theatre Certification
Be a part of the most important place in the theatre – backstage! This class will create and build the sets, costumes, lights, and sound for the fall and spring plays at FRHS. We will also learn the basics of design, and earn certification for operating equipment in the Performing Arts Center. Don’t’ miss this opportunity to be involved! Open to grades 9 - 12. Must be 16 to be certified by Poudre School District. |
